Tea Cozies 4 Book

The Tea Cozies 4 book is out now. I have five designs in this one; Harlequin, Love Hearts, Nordic, Rose Garden and Pansies. Here are two of them.

Try Out Swatches

For my design work I try to get try out swatches done whenever possible unless there isn t time It s extra work but can save a lot of time if the design doesn t work. There s a always a big difference between a sketch on paper and seeing how it works knitted up. I use them to try out yarns, stitches and colour combinations. Here are some examples. Sometimes there isn t even a plan, just trying things out. These are for the Make at Home range and just trying out stitches and yarns swatches.

New Facebook Pages

Make at Home Kits

Here is the first Make at Home kit, for the Coffee Pot cushion cover, showing how the kits will look when they are ready. I m still working on the new website at the moment, and hope to launch the range early in the new year.

New name for home range

I ve decided to change the name of the new home knit and crochet range from Domestic Bliss to Make at Home. Here is the new logo, and I m working on the website at the moment, More news soon.

I recently went to see Nicki Trench, who I ve worked with on several books. She has moved to an amazing converted barn in a lovely part of the Sussex countryside and not far from where I ve recently moved to.It was great to see her,and the latest projects that she is working on. Always inspiring to see the work and such a lovely person too.

New Range Ideas

I m working on a new range of Handknits and crochet for the home called Domestic Bliss. Its in its early stages at the moment; designs and first samples beginning to come in.The range will be available as patterns and kits. A new website will be started soon.

The theme of the range is a nostalgic scrapbook of my childhood (1960 s ) and teenage years (1970 s) The  range is split into four themes; Kitchen, Seaside, Simplicity and Nostalgia. The projects have a retro feel and are based on happy memories such as helping in the kitchen, trips to the seaside, learning to knit and remembered home made garments and knitted and crochet things for the home. Here is a preview of some of the projects. More to follow.

Designs Grannies Inc Book

I ve done some designs for a book just published called Grannies inc Guide To Knitting, by Katie Mowat

from  Ebury Press.Katie runs the company Grannies Inc. Some of the designs are; Lacy Cape (above), Laptop Cozy, Argyll Bag, Fingerless Gloves, Slouch Socks.

Tea Cozies 4 Book

I m working on some ideas at the moment for Tea Cozies 4, for GMC, following on from doing ten cosy designs for Tea Cozies 3, two are shown here, Primroses and Winter Fairisle. They are fun to work on as they can be quirky and quick to make, a refreshing change from designing garments.
